The original author of this Francis Bruno Catalano sculpture is Bruno Catalano, who was born in Morocco in 1960 and has multiple Mediterranean ancestry, and he and his family were forced into exile in 1975. At 18 he became a sailor, later an electrician, and at 30 he was exposed to art and clay sculpture through artists such as Rodin, Giacometti and Cesar. From then on, he decided to devote his life to the art of sculpture. His Francis Bruno Catalano sculpture is on display in Marseille to celebrate its status as the European Capital of Culture in 2013.
