Ugolino and his son are marble sculptures made in Paris in the 1860s by Jean-baptiste Carpeaux. Ugolino and his son’s famous garden marble statue depict the story of Dante in Hell, while the 13th-century Earl was imprisoned and starved to death with his children. This marble sculpture shows the story of a father and his four children. A father sits in the middle, and several of his children are wrapped around him.
